The Bachelor of Social Work program at City University has been designed to provide an understanding of human diversity and society and prepare students for successful careers in Social Work. Using a curriculum that concentrates on generalist social work practice, the primary mission of the undergraduate Social Work program is to prepare students for beginning professional-level social work practice. The program’s curriculum is dedicated to the idea that the war-ravaged citizens of our communities particularly those who are vulnerable and marginalized serve the care and dignity they need to live full and fulfilling lives.

City University Learning Outcomes (CULOS) are general, transferrable knowledge and skills that every City University graduate is expected to have met, regardless of the degree program. Saida Mohamed Hassan

Social work is an extremely important field for conflict-affected countries like Somalia. Its key purpose is to support and advocate for social justice, bring social transformation, and prioritize vulnerable social groups. I have studied and worked in the field of social work to help a broader range of people by advocating for relevant policies, addressing social problems, raising mental health awareness, and overall community well-being. Social work is not just a career. It is a sense of translating the humanistic side into reality, solidarity, empathy, compassion, and fairness. Somalia needs the most to provide direct services and promote social justice and economic justice. Social work graduates from the City University of Mogadishu are outstanding in their competencies, professionalism, and community support.
