Established in 2012, City University (CU) is a Not-For-Profit foundation university located in Mogadishu, Somalia that is pioneering quality instruction, research, and service to society.
CU practices selective admissions through an entrance exam equivalent to an accredited secondary school. Merit scholarships are also given based on student test scores.
Limited, Conditional Employment for CU students: Students who wish to apply for student employment must maintain a grade of B or better to be considered for on-campus jobs. Similarly, students may be hired for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Students on full or partial scholarships at City may fulfill their community service obligations through employment within the university and will be compensated for the time they work beyond their obligations. All employment is handled at the HR Office. The approval of the office of the VP for Academic Affairs is required for student employment.
Typical student employment includes assistantship roles at the science labs, computer labs, library, boats, greenhouse, cafe, bookstore, Etc.
