Established in 2012, City University (CU) is a Not-For-Profit foundation university located in Mogadishu, Somalia that is pioneering quality instruction, research, and service to society.

CU Admissions:

CU practices selective admissions through an entrance exam equivalent to an accredited secondary school. Merit scholarships are also given based on student test scores.

The Foundations & Languages Institute provides a rich and tailored program of learning for university bound students as well as members of the general public who wish study English.

Marine & Fisheries Institute

The Marine & Fisheries Institute at City University has four functions:

Marine Vocational Training.
The Mogadishu Marine High School.
Marine Research Services.
Undergraduate Marine Degree programs.

Conflict, Governance & Peacebuilding Center

The Conflict, Governance & Peacebuilding Center provide short course in Peace and Conflict Resolution as well as an MA Degree Program in Political Science with focus on Conflict Studies.

City University Affiliated K-12 Educational Institutions

Mogadishu Marine High School

The Mogadishu Marine High School provides high quality secondary education and residential dormitories for students from all regions of the country. Students complete grades 9-12 in this program preceded an intensive English Language Program as well as swimming and water safety lessons. In addition to the high school education, students learn about the ocean, environment, fish and maritime transportation.

Most students enjoy full scholarships that cover their education and living expenses provided for by the Board of Trustees of City University to encourage this important field of study.

YK High School for Science & Technology

The Yusuf Al-Kawnayn High School for Science & Technology provides high quality secondary education with emphasis on Science and Technology. An Intensive English Language Program precedes the students’ educational programs.

Students who complete this program will be able to enroll in college and select the most challenging of majors with a strong background in the sciences and technology.
