Staff teaching mobility aims to enable a staff member obligated to teach students at a higher education institution in one of the Partner Countries with which an inter-institutional agreement has been signed, and to carry out joint academic/educational activities with the other institution in relation to teaching.

* Our staff are required to teach for a minimum of 5 days a week, totaling 8 hours.

Personnel applying for this activity must be employed full-time or part-time at our university and actively working at the institution. Personnel employed by higher education institutions through service procurement contracts are not eligible for mobility.

Application Dates and Location

the Erasmus + KA171 Staff Teaching Mobility program will be accepted electronically only between February 14-March 07, 2026, via the info@cu.edu.so. No physical documents will be required at the International Relations Office. Applications cannot be submitted or documents uploaded after March 07, 2026; therefore, it is crucial to submit applications within the specified dates.

Assessment and Placement

There is no language proficiency requirement for Staff Teaching and Training Mobility. However, candidates with a score of 55 or higher on TOEFL iBT  can apply by uploading their foreign language certificates to the system during the application process. These candidates will receive an additional 20% of their foreign language score as points .

Personnel meeting the foreseen minimum requirements are listed by department/unit based on evaluation scores calculated according to the selection criteria in the table below, with a base score of 30 for teaching mobility.

The amount of travel expenses to be paid to personnel benefiting from staff mobility activities should be calculated using the “Distance Calculator”. The distance calculator can be accessed via the following link:

http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm

The distance between the employee’s place of residence and the location of the activity should be determined in kilometers using a distance calculator, and the travel allowance should be calculated using the table below. The allowance corresponding to the kilometer figure obtained from the distance calculator in the table below is the round-trip amount, and this amount should not be multiplied by two. If the employee travels with transfers, this does not affect the distance calculated using the method described above.

The duration of teaching supported by grant funding is 5 days. In addition, grant funding will be provided for the day before and the day after the activity, as these two days are considered travel days. The total number of days staff will receive grant funding under the KA171 program is 7 days.

Without Grant (“0” Grant):

Personnel can participate in the activity without receiving a grant if they wish. To participate without a grant , an application must be submitted and evaluated along with other applications. The difference for personnel participating without a grant is that they are not included in budget calculations and do not receive any payment. Not receiving a grant does not excuse personnel from being included in the selection process.

Inclusion Support

The Erasmus + Program encourages the participation of individuals with special needs. A person with special needs is a potential participant whose physical, mental, or health condition would prevent them from participating in a project/mobility activity without additional financial support. To receive additional grants for students and staff requiring inclusion support, the beneficiary higher education institution must request additional funding from the Center. Once a participant requiring inclusion support has been selected, if the participant requests additional funding, the approximate additional costs are determined, and an additional grant request is submitted to the Center.
